Registered Provisional Psychologist

Virtual & In-Person | $200 per hour

I have a particular interest in working with trauma, and often more specifically, first responders and frontline professionals—people whose work asks them to carry experiences most of us will never encounter. I also enjoy supporting neurodivergent clients who've spent much of their lives adapting to a world that wasn't built with them in mind, as well as those navigating grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and older adolescents (15+). My previous work in child protection, family violence, disability services, firefighting, and hospice care has given me the privilege of walking alongside people during some of life's most vulnerable moments, and continues to shape the way I approach this work.

Hello!

There is something deeply hopeful about the human mind. Even after difficult experiences, our brains remain capable of learning, adapting, and healing. The symptoms that often bring people to therapy—trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, grief, or feeling disconnected from yourself—are rarely signs that something is wrong with you. More often, they are creative ways your mind and body learned to survive.

To me, therapy is about helping you understand yourself with greater compassion, reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath stress or survival, and discover new ways of moving through the world that feel more authentic, flexible, and aligned with who you are. It is a privilege to walk alongside people in that process, and I would be honoured to be part of your journey.

Mental Health Approaches

Every person brings a different story into the therapy room, so my approach is never "one size fits all.” I believe therapy should honour your unique experiences, values, strengths, and goals. While my work is grounded in existential-humanistic philosophy, I draw from evidence-based therapies including EMDR, ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS, mindfulness, somatic, and psychodynamic approaches, adapting each to fit the person sitting in front of me.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Mindfulness Therapy

More About Katelyn

Outside of work, I recharge by swimming laps, spending time outdoors with my husband, our son, and our dog, Eevee, and every now and then, unwinding with a story-driven video game (God of War is my favourite). Becoming a mother has deepened my appreciation for how profoundly relationships, attachment, and everyday moments of connection shape us throughout our lives. Those experiences continue to influence not only who I am as a person, but also how I show up as a psychologist—with curiosity, authenticity, and the belief that healing begins by feeling truly understood.
