Mental Health Approaches
I believe in the infinite potential for growth and change and I search for meaning, learning and healing from life experiences. As a social worker, I recognize that we are connected, influenced, and very much a part of the world around us creating both opportunities and challenges depending on the context. I utilize tools, skills, strategies, and techniques from a variety of approaches and theories, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Strengths-Based Approach, Crisis Intervention, Trauma Theory, Anti Oppressive practice, Family Systems Theory, Resiliency Theory, Humanistic/Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Theory. I am also trained in EMDR.
