Sharon Meredith became a psychologist following a 29-year career as a regular member of the RCMP. Her service was mostly in Alberta, with a short stint in Saskatchewan. Bob, her husband is also a retired RCMP member. His transfer to driver training was the reason they left their beloved province of Alberta for a short while. As an RCMP member, Sharon volunteered with the Member and Employee Assistance program (MEAP) and continues to be passionate about helping active members, veterans, and their families.

Mental Health Concerns

During comprehensive mental health and VAC assessments, Sharon takes time to understand clients' unique situations and goals. She has expertise supporting those with PTSD, operational stress injuries, addictions, grief and loss, relationship issues, and more. Sharon helps clients process trauma, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. Sharon is dedicated to empowering her clients and providing them with practical tools to improve their mental health and quality of life. Her compassionate presence and wealth of knowledge assists RCMP officers, veterans, and families on their journey toward hope and wholeness.

Sharon incorporates a diverse range of modalities into her practice. She is certified in EMDR therapy and serves as an EMDR consultant, guiding other therapists in this powerful approach for healing trauma. Sharon seamlessly integrates EMDR with other evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), clinical hypnosis, Mindfulness, and Brainspotting. Her breadth of skills also includes Interpersonal Neurobiology, which examines how relationships shape the brain and nervous system. Sharon utilizes somatic (body-based) therapies as well, including Gendlin Focusing and Hakomi. With expertise in so many complementary techniques, Sharon can offer her clients an integrative healing journey tailored to their unique needs.

More About Sharon

As an RCMP member, Sharon volunteered with the Member and Employee Assistance program (MEAP) and continues to be passionate about helping active members, Veterans, and their families. Her husband, Bob, shares her passion and as such spent the last decade of his career in the Div Rep program, first as a provincial rep in Alberta and then as a national rep, while maintaining his Alberta residency.

While still members, both Sharon and Bob, received the Governor General's Member of the Order (MOM) award for the devotion to helping members. Sadly, the RCMP members, suffered and continue to suffer many traumatic losses and traumatic injuries. Unrelenting in their commitment to help the RCMP and their communities, Sharon and Bob have opened Power Psychology clinics in four Alberta locations, including Wetaskiwin, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, and Edmonton.
