How to Get Your VAC Authorization for an Assessment

If you are eligible for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) benefits, you may be able to have the cost of your assessment covered by VAC. Here’s how to get started:

Step 1: Confirm Your Eligibility

You must be a veteran, RCMP member, or an eligible family member to qualify for VAC benefits. If you’re unsure, visit Veterans Affairs Canada or call VAC at 1-866-522-2122 for more information.

Step 2: Contact VAC to Request Authorization

Reach out to VAC and request authorization for your assessment. This can be done by:

Step 3: Provide Required Information

Have your personal details ready, including your service number, date of birth, any referral letters, and relevant medical history.

Step 4: VAC Reviews Your Request

VAC will review your information and decide if your assessment can be funded. This process may take some time, so please be patient.

Step 5: Share Your Authorization With Us

Once you receive approval and an authorization number or letter from VAC, please send it to us. This confirms that your assessment will be covered.

Step 6: Schedule Your Assessment

After we receive your authorization, our team will help you book your assessment appointment at a time that works for you.

We understand that navigating the VAC authorization process can be confusing. Our staff are here to support you every step of the way. Please contact us if you need assistance with paperwork, have questions, or want to learn more about the assessment.
