Are We a Good Fit?

Karen has worked in healthcare as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner for over 29 years. As a result, she brings with her the experience and understanding of how the body works in terms of

physiology, and how the mind works, such as psychology. Her experience allows her to view the two as combined components that work in tandem in each person as opposed to being separate entities. Her unique perspective allows her to understand her clients from their head to their toes, literally. As both a nurse practitioner and a psychologist, Karen brings a rare combination of knowledge, skills and expertise to each session.

Karen's Approaches

Karen provides a safe and compassionate space for her clients to begin the journey towards improved mental health. During her sessions, Karen uses various modalities including EMDR therapy, hypnosis, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Theory. Her years of experience as a Registered Nurse enabled her to develop a unique approach that combines various therapeutic modalities with the additional considerations and understanding of medical conditions and pathophysiology.
