Jon specializes in treating anxiety disorders, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain in adults (20+), teenagers (14 to 19) and seniors (65+).

Jon has worked the educational field for many years and is a trauma-informed counsellor whose primary focus is building strong, safe relationships to help facilitate and empower individuals for positive change.

Therapy for Anxiety Disorders

Jon has years of experience in treating general anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children, teenagers and adults. Using various methods, such as EMDR therapy or cognitive behavioural therapy, Jon helps address unhelpful thoughts, emotions and beliefs that cause your anxiety while offering valuable skills to manage it.

Therapy for Depression

Jon attends a yearly suicide seminar where he has learned skills and techniques that provided him with insight into different strategies to understand and help people with suicidal thoughts and behaviours, as well as help their families.

Therapy for Trauma and PTSD

Jon can help you process and heal from childhood trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), medical trauma, physical or sexual abuse, complex trauma, bullying and more.

He developed tremendous insight on trauma by frequently attending the National Institution of Clinical Application of Institution of Behavioural Medicine (NICAMB) "Treating Trauma Series" which has helped him further understand the neurobiology of trauma and the effective strategies to treat it.

Jon provides compassionate and empathic treatment to help with the tragic circumstances that doctors, nurses, paramedics, EMTs and disease specialists are currently operating in. Losing a loved one can be the hardest trial in our lives. Jon provides an empathetic ear while also offering valuable coping skills to help deal with the sadness, anger, guilt, shame, and regret that you may be feeling to help you heal and move on one day at a time.

Jon has experience in helping LGBTQ+ members find confidence, self-love and improved self-esteem by addressing gender identity issues, sexuality, coming out, transitioning and more. He offers a non-judgemental, safe and trusting space to explore difficult feelings while empowering you to embrace your authentic self.


Jon has experience in helping couples improve their communication, overcome trust and infidelity issues, improve intimacy, deal with stress, help with parenting and more. He uses the Gottman Method to effectively strengthen your relationship, improve your sex life and build stronger foundations. 

Being a teacher also increased Jon’s understanding and compassion when counselling adults, couples and families.


Therapy for Children and Teens

Jon was a teacher for 15 years, an experience that greatly contributed to his counselling perspective. As a teacher, he had firsthand experience in observing the struggles that children and teens face. He applies this experience to provide a compassionate and safe environment where children and teens can process and talk about low self-esteem, family issues, divorce, bullying, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and more.


Being a teacher also increased Jon’s understanding and compassion when counselling adults, couples and families.

Jon's Approaches

The modalities Jon uses are strength-based therapy, clinical hypnosis, narrative therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR therapy), and solution- focused therapy.

Jon is open to working with children (8 years old and up), adolescents, and adults.
