Desiree's Main Approaches
Desiree works from a person-centered and holistic approach to address her client’s emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. She believes within us each is a therapist and prioritizes client empowerment through collaboration.
She uses varying counselling theories including Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, and trauma-informed care to support her clients facing mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, loss and grief, suicide ideation, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and unexplained mental health challenges. Desiree is also pursuing training in EMDR.

More About Desiree
Desiree completed her Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Psychology at the University of Manitoba and her Master’s in Education (Counselling Psychology) at the University of Alberta. She is also fluent in English and French. Animals have a big place in Desiree's heart. She loves all animals and is particularly fond of dogs and farm animals such as goats, sheep, ponies, and silky chickens. Desiree has two adorable dogs called Kiwi and Bentley. She also enjoys travelling, trying new recipes, reading, attending hot yoga classes, and connecting with her friends and family.
