Have you been feeling stressed or anxious recently?

 Has this been an ongoing concern in your life? Anxiety is commonly experienced mental health concern, with over 3 million, or 11.6%, of Canadian 18 years or older reporting that they are coping with anxiety (Government of Canada, 2014). Although anxiety is experienced differently by each individual, there are certain strategies that are commonly effective; which including mindfulness, grounding, EFT and more!

EFT TAPPING

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is used to help relax the mind and body through a tapping procedure by stimulating acupressure points on the face and body.

RELAXATION

Learn relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, and meditation to help you relax when you are feeling overwhelmed by anxious thoughts & feelings. 

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness, like grounding, encourages present moment awareness, during which it is important to be intentional and non-judgmental with your thoughts. 

PSYCHOEDUCATION

& GROUP PROCESSING

Psychoeducation and group processing is a type of group therapy that teaches you more about anxiety, in what ways it may be affecting you and how to cope with it. 

GROUNDING

Grounding exercises help bring you back to the present moment. Anxiety can be thought of as living in future worries, so grounding yourself in the present is helpful!

Join Alex and Monica once a week for the month of August to learn about why anxiety occurs, and specific strategies to effectively cope with anxiety. This will include grounding exercises, mindfulness exercises, EFT tapping, education, and an opportunity to process your experience with anxiety.
