Coming from a position of compassion, empathy, and acceptance, Alison provides individual and couples treatment for a variety of concerns including difficulties regulating emotions, anger, relationship issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, life transitions, and stress management.

With years of prior experience as a correctional officer and training in PTSD and trauma counselling, Alison is uniquely qualified to offer services to first responders and military personnel. She also has extensive training in couples therapy.

She collaborates with clients to develop a tailored, personalized treatment plan to best meet their needs and address their concerns.
Alison’s Approaches
Alison has undergone extensive theoretical and practical training, and incorporates several approaches into her client-centred therapy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness. Alison is also uniquely suited to work with couples, with training in Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

With experience as a professional oboe player, Ironman triathlon finisher, and more recently as a correctional officer, Alison’s diverse life experience gives her a unique perspective into people. She is driven to understand her clients fully and work with them to meet their needs and help resolve the problems that bring them to therapy.
Alison believes that each client is the expert in their own life. She is driven to help clients to find new ways to solve old problems, helping them to live in accordance with their values and move toward their own goals and aspirations.
